Position Overview
The Digital Media Associate will support the organization’s communications and outreach efforts by creating engaging digital content (photos, videos, reels, posters, and stories) for social media platforms. The role will focus on documenting field activities, producing short videos, and helping share impactful stories of change from communities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about communication and development work.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Social Media
- Assist in drafting, editing, and curating content for social media, websites, newsletters, and other communication channels.
- Create short videos, reels, posters, and photo stories for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp.
- Help manage social media platforms by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and coordinating with agencies for content creation.
- Monitor social media trends and suggest innovative ideas for content to enhance engagement.
Design and Production
- Assist in coordinating video production, including storyboarding, scheduling shoots, and working with videographers and editors.
- Capture photos and videos during field visits, events, trainings, and community programs.
- Edit videos for social media (reels, shorts, AVs) using basic editing tools.
- Create simple posters, infographics, and thumbnails using tools like Canva.
Documentation Support
- Collect stories of change, quotes, impact stories and testimonials from beneficiaries and field staff.
- Support in planning and executing digital campaigns and awareness drives.
- Help document workshops, meetings, and campaigns visually and maintain a digital library of photos and videos with proper labelling and storage.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mass communication, Development communication, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in communication, content creation, or project coordination, preferably in the development sector. Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Experience in social media platforms, content management systems, and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
- Basic video production skills, including familiarity with video editing software, are desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
